Every year, The Corps Network conducts a survey of our 150 member organizations to collect data on the impact Corps have on America’s communities, public lands, and young people. See below or in this fact sheet for a data snapshot on acres of habitat restored by Corps in 2024.

Overview
Habitat restoration means bringing back damaged or destroyed natural areas to make them healthy again. This important environmental work helps to recover plant and animal life, improve services provided by ecosystems, and create strong landscapes that can better cope with climate change and human activities. By using specific actions like reintroducing native species, removing invasive ones, and cleaning up soil, these projects provide many benefits. They can enhance biodiversity, improve water quality, control floods, store carbon, and offer learning opportunities for communities. Whether it’s wetlands, forests, or urban green spaces, habitat restoration is one of our strongest ways to heal the planet and ensure a sustainable future for all living creatures.
