About
June is Great Outdoors Month: a celebration of America’s public lands and waters and the many ways to enjoy them. Held in recognition of Great Outdoors Month, National Service and Conservation Corps Day seeks to:
- Celebrate everything Corps programs have accomplished for our country over the past 90+ years and show gratitude to the thousands of young adults and veterans actively serving in Corps and helping improve our communities, lands, and waters.
- Raise awareness about Corps and the importance of national service programs in helping maintain our public lands and waters.

Participate in The Corps Network’s Day of Service
The Corps Network will celebrate National Service and Conservation Corps Day with our 11th Great Outdoors Day of Service. This event unites Corps and our partners for a volunteer activity at a National Park Service site in or near Washington, DC. The Day of Service is designed to get work done for our federal and community partners while highlighting the importance of service in helping maintain our public lands.

- TIME: 8:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
- WHERE: Meridian Hill Park

Log your service hours throughout the year
As part of America’s 250th anniversary celebration, The Corps Network is partnering with America250 to highlight the collective impact of service across the country. We encourage you to share your volunteer hours with America Gives, a key pillar of the America250 campaign, which aims to make 2026 the largest year of volunteer service in U.S. history.

Congressional Resolution
We are excited to share that a bipartisan resolution was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate this week to officially recognize the second Friday in June as National Service and Conservation Corps Day. The resolution was led in the House by Representatives Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA), Don Bacon (R-NE), Doris Matsui (D-CA), and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA). It was introduced in the Senate by Senators Martin Heinrich (D-NM), Bill Cassidy (R-LA), John Hickenlooper (D-CO), and Chris Coons (D-DE). We sincerely thank our champions on Capitol Hill for making this possible!

National Service and Conservation Corps Day 2024
In 2024, The Corps Network worked with our champions on Capitol Hill on the introduction of a bipartisan Resolution in the U.S. House of Representatives to recognize the second Friday in June as National Service and Conservation Corps Day. We thank Representatives Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), Garret Graves (R-LA), and Doris Matsui (D-CA).
National Service and Conservation Corps Day 2023
Our first National Service and Conservation Corps Day was made official in 2023 through a Resolution introduced by Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-NM) and Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA). Co-sponsors include Sens. Chris Coons (D-DE), Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), and John Hickenlooper (D-CO). Join us in thanking Senators Heinrich, Cassidy, Coons, Capito, and Hickenlooper for their support of national service programs.
