The second Friday in June is National Service and Conservation Corps Day!
Celebrate June 13, 2025
#ServeOutdoors
About
June is Great Outdoors Month: a celebration of America’s public lands and waters and the many ways to enjoy them. Held in recognition of Great Outdoors Month, National Service and Conservation Corps Day seeks to:
- Celebrate everything Corps programs have accomplished for our country over the past 90+ years and show gratitude to the thousands of young adults and veterans actively serving in Corps and helping improve our communities, lands, and waters.
- Raise awareness about Corps and the importance of national service programs in helping maintain our public lands and waters.

Congressional Resolution
In 2025, The Corps Network worked with our champions on Capitol Hill on the introduction of a bipartisan Resolution in the U.S. House of Representatives to recognize the second Friday in June as National Service and Conservation Corps Day. We thank Representatives Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA), Doris Matsui (D-CA), Don Bacon (R-NE), and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA).
Take Action to Support Corps
Service and Conservation Corps face challenging circumstances. The Corps Network and many organizations in our membership have been impacted by federal funding cuts, especially the cuts to AmeriCorps. Of the $400 million in AmeriCorps grants that were terminated, some $22 million in funding for Service and Conservation Corps was cut. Now the president’s budget proposal calls to eliminate AmeriCorps entirely. This would be extremely damaging; many Service and Conservation Corps rely on AmeriCorps for between 15% – 50% of their budget. As we celebrate National Service and Conservation Corps Day, we encourage you to please take action to protect AmeriCorps. Below are quick ways you can help.
1. Call Congress
Please see here for instructions and a template script from our partners at Voices for National Service. We need as many voices as possible flooding the phone lines with support for AmeriCorps.
2. Send an Email
See this tool from our partners at Voices for National Service that allows you to quickly send an email to your U.S. Senators and Representatives.
3. Share the Word on Social
Encourage your friends and followers to also help protect AmeriCorps. See sample social below.
4. Make a Donation
The programs, technical assistance, and advocacy coordinated by The Corps Network would not be possible without generous contributions from businesses, private foundations, government agencies, and individuals. You can also make a gift to directly support young people facing challenges while serving in Corps by designating your donation for the Patricia Sagawa Corpsmember Relief Fund. Learn more and give today. We sincerely appreciate your support.
