ORGANIZATION/PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
LA Green Corps trains participants in green job skills while helping them gain work adjustment skills, overcome social obstacles, secure a job, and identify resources to help them become successful, contributing members of the workforce. Ecologically sound restoration and revitalization projects prepare Corps members for entry into emerging green industries while galvanizing the local economy through the development of social enterprises. These enterprises create economic opportunity while meeting social and environmental needs.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Program Instruction Supervisor is the primary staff member responsible for the technical and soft skill instruction curriculum implemented by Louisiana Green Corps to prepare individuals for high-wage, high demand environmentally sustainable construction, and green infrastructure careers. The Program Instruction Supervisor actively and directly, leads program delivery functions to participants, according to the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), OSHA 10, Clean Water Certificate (CWC), and other industry-based technical training and reports to the Program Director.
The Program Instruction Supervisor designs and implements instruction in a variety of settings. The Program Instructor will monitor the delivery of the curriculum by instructors, and/or consultants in the classroom, the field, and online (as required). The Program Instruction Supervisor will effectively communicate and work with all stakeholders to ensure that participants develop an understanding of the construction topics. Participants must understand basic construction principles, understand construction drawing, and direction to meet industry standards for green construction, energy efficiency and green infrastructure projects and ensure effective job readiness skills training including, resume building, customer service, effective communication skills, safety, and training for Louisiana Green Corps participant

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $62,000.00 – $66,000.00 per year

JOB DUTIES
REQUIREMENTS
At least 2 years of experience in either the construction, environmental sustainability, green or blue infrastructure fields with a portion spent as a Lead, Site Superintendent, Project Manager, or similar position. At least two-three years of experience in the workforce development field and at least one year of experience working and instructing youth and young adults.
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of construction codes, building materials, tool use and maintenance, and industry best practices for safety, durability, and quality.
Highly competent in reading, interpreting, utilizing, and making adjustments or recommendations to construction documents such as blueprints and inspection reports.
Ability to thrive by working independently toward a goal and prioritizing a project’s needs in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex procedures, tasks, and ideas in ways that are easy to understand.
TECHNOLOGICAL SKILLS:
Basic Microsoft operating systems, navigation, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. QuickBooks, Zoom, Google Docs, and the ability to contribute to social media content production by taking photos to document and report outcomes for crucial projects completed by program participants for newsletters, annual reports, board reports, grants, or social media accounts.
HOURS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Primarily – Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The Program Instruction Supervisor is expected to work after-hours on weekends for graduation, alumni events, and donor engagement functions. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The successful candidate will be able to perform job responsibilities that require mobility and lifting of light to heavy loads as required to support the instruction of the program participants. DRIVING
Must have a valid Louisiana State Driving License with a clean driving record. This position may be required to operate a vehicle(s) transporting up to 12 participants to various locations for program purposes. Must monitor the performance condition and maintenances of cars used to transport participants. Must have reliable transportation to attend meetings and conduct business. Must accurately follow routes, maps, and directions to multiple locations promptly and exercise good judgment while driving by respectfully operating vehicle(s) according to the State of Louisiana’s traffic laws and safety standards.
BACKGROUND CHECKS
Upon initial employment, candidates must pass a fingerprint clearance and background check, including criminal history, personal references, and employment/education verification. Louisiana Green Corps may perform additional background checks and screenings as needed to ensure the safety of program participants and community stakeholders.
