ORGANIZATION/PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The UCC is a non-residential AmeriCorps program composed of AmeriCorps members, staff, and partners dedicated to service to our community, environment, and regions requiring disaster response efforts. We offer opportunities to serve on one of our field crews or at one of our non-profit host sites. Our field crews work at project sites to improve the quality of the public lands, to improve and restore habitat, and to build and maintain trails. These AmeriCorps positions range from a 3 to 10 month commitment. We also have individual placement members who serve with one of UCC's many non-profit partners engaging in environmental education and community volunteerism. These positions have varying time commitments.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position: 2024 Fall Crew Member
Organization: Utah Conservation Corps (UCC)
Locations: Logan, Cedar City, Moab
Term Dates (tentative):
- Fall (450 hrs): August 22 – November 15
Overview: Join UCC as an AmeriCorps Crew Member, working on various conservation projects across Utah and the Intermountain West. Responsibilities include trail construction, invasive species management, habitat restoration, and disaster response efforts. Members will be trained in tool use, project techniques, and outdoor living. Expect frequent travel, camping, and a dynamic schedule with extended fieldwork.
JOB DUTIES
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
- Must be 18+ years old
- Ability to live and work outdoors in varying conditions
- Commitment to full program participation, including training and service
- Physically able to lift 30 lbs. and use hand tools
- High school diploma or GED (or working towards one)
- U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident
- Pass a criminal history check
