Aquatic Restoration Training Reaches Corps in 16 States!
Washington, DC — After last week’s launch of the online Live Webinar version of The Corps Network’s Waders in the Water Green Jobs training program, the aquatic restoration program has now been delivered to 22 Corps in 16 states and the District of Columbia.
In response to the 21st Century Conservation Service Corps’ (21CSC) effort to put young people and veterans to work nationwide, The Waders in the Water Green Jobs training and certification was specifically designed under a public-private partnership between The Corps Network and Trout Headwaters Inc. to enable youth and veterans to enter conservation careers by learning how to improve the health, productivity, and climate-resiliency of our streams, rivers, and wetlands.
With the new online delivery, this valuable training is now much more convenient, significantly less expensive, and better for the environment. Students and instructor no longer need to travel to a training facility and the just-released state-of-the-art instructional environment enables students to learn on a tablet or even a smart phone.
Corps who have participated in Waders in the Water are now beginning on projects with private restoration companies as a direct result of taking this training. Don’t just take our word for it though. After taking the online Live Webinar version of The Corps Network’s Waders, participants said:
