Position title : Conservation Engagement & Evaluation Specialist

Position Description :

This grant-funded position leads Energy & Water Conservation engagement and evaluation efforts to enroll eligible Metro Denver residents in the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP), increase awareness and access to free and low cost energy and water conservation services and providers, and evaluate actual energy and water resource and utility bill savings.

Job Duties :

Project Coordination:

  • Develop, implement and continuously improve energy and water conservation, engagement and evaluation strategies and activities
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders in project activities both internally and externally
  • Work closely with the Energy & Water staff to ensure LEAP enrollment, service integration, data collection and reporting projects are well executed leading to a high satisfaction level of clients and sponsors
  • Assist Client Intake Coordinator in scheduling client appointments by gathering contacts and communicating them to the Client Intake Coordinator
  • Coordinate home-visits for evaluation activities
  • Produce and maintain accurate project records and reports as needed. Create ways to engage crew in reporting when possible
  • Ensure that safe working procedures are followed

Youth Development & Supervision:

  • Assist in orientation, training, supervision, and evaluation for Corpsmembers and Crew Leaders
  • Direct supervision of two Corpsmembers related to CEE program
  • Engage Corpsmembers to increase professional and leadership development through delegation and inclusion in creating project materials, capturing and reporting on project outcomes, delivering education and engagement programming, and other responsibilities as appropriate
  • Promote organization’s mission in all activities
  • Enforce the policies and procedures outlined in the MHYC employee and Corpsmember handbooks
  • Promote a solution-focused youth development environment in which Corpsmembers have the opportunity to develop new skills and experience personal growth
  • Collaborate with staff to support successful Corpsmember outcomes

Administrative Duties:

  • Support recruitment and assist hiring for Energy & Water Conservation Corpsmembers and Crew Leaders
  • Complete and submit high quality project reports in a timely manner
  • Assist the Project Manager in grant reporting and billing
  • Assist other staff by providing programmatic information needed for marketing materials and fundraising proposals
  • Attend Energy & Water Conservation program and Mile High Youth Corps events and trainings
  • Participate in internal and external meetings and committees
Requirements :

Education: Minimum A.A. or A.S. required, data management or statistics coursework a plus

  • Candidates with prior convictions encouraged to apply

Requirements:

  • Experience working directly with a diverse youth population (ages 18-24 preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (candidates with bilingual English-Spanish proficiency preferred)
  • Excellent client/ customer service skills
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and/or other office productivity applications
  • Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record
  • Able to legally work in the United States, which will be verified via the federal E-Verify program on the first day of employment
  • Pre-employment background check required, including a FBI Background Check, which includes fingerprinting. This position has recurring access to vulnerable
  • Pre-employment drug screen required. Drug testing may be required during employment.
  • Familiarity with energy and water conservation practices and ethics (preferred)
  • Project coordination experience (preferred)
  • Data collection and reporting experience including statistical analysis (preferred)
  • Experience developing outreach, marketing and/or educational materials (preferred)
Benefits :

This position is grant funded and termed from January 6, 2020 to December 23, 2020. The term may be extended contingent on funding. The position is classified as non-exempt, full-time, term-limited and is eligible for health, dental, and vision insurance and 403(b) retirement benefits on the first day of the month after 60 days of service. At this time, this position is eligible for paid excused absence requests but is not eligible for paid time off (PTO) accrual or a PTO payout at termination. Therefore, requested time off will be reviewed and accounted as ‘excused’ time if approved. Typical hours are Monday-Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm and Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm. Some evenings and weekend hours may be required. Pay rate is $15.50/hour.
