Position Description :

The Data Management and Program Support Specialist will be responsible for supporting the Michigan Community Service Commission (MCSC) through reporting program impact, implementing various programs, and supporting events/meetings. This includes creating dashboards to collect and track data, supporting staff meet partner development goals using a Contact Relationship Management (CRM) system, assisting staff and partners with utilizing the Fluxx grants management platform, ensuring all MCSC platforms are fully managed, and supporting the MCSC Commissioners. This is a full-time remote contractor opportunity.

Job Duties :

The deliverables include:

  • Oversee and coordinate collection and tracking of data to demonstrate progress towards goals
  • Create a coordinated system and procedure manual for data collection and reporting to ensure sustainability of efforts
  • Support staff with developing strong project management plans and dashboards to track progress
  • Create a reporting mechanism to provide impact update to Commissioners at MCSC board meetings
  • Assist with creating and supporting a coordinated effort to gather stakeholder input as part of a listening tour to create a new State Service Plan in 2023 to submit to the AmeriCorps agency
  • Gather team data monthly to enter into the MCSC State Service Plan Tracker
  • Develop annual report in coordination with entire MCSC team demonstrating MCSC impact and fulfillment of State Service Plan Goals and Objectives to submit to Governor’s office and partners
  • Utilize GIS mapping process to identify MCSC partnerships and resources throughout the state
  • Assist MCSC staff and partners with accessing Michigan GIS data sets
  • Support staff and partners with utilizing Fluxx grants management platform
  • Utilize the Fluxx CRM to support staff to enhance and maintain effective strategic partnerships throughout all sectors in Michigan, including businesses, nonprofits, government agencies, municipalities, public and private universities and colleges, faith-based organizations, community foundations, United Ways, etc.
  • Assist with developing a plan that advances MCSC’s strategies to increase engagement and deepen relationships with individuals, new target audiences and organizations
  • Develop an implementation plan to support the MCSC team and partners to successfully utilize a Learning Management System, as well as track partner access to trainings and assessment data
  • Assist with tracking fund development efforts to provide resources for MCSC initiatives
  • Assist with maintaining an online presence – MCSC (LEO), Mentor Michigan (external)
  • Support MCSC website edits and ensure content is updated accordingly
  • Track analytics for MCSC webpages, social media, and platforms, and recommend ideas to increase usage
  • Provide support for all MCSC platforms/project management systems (i.e.. Get Connected, Get ReDI, FLUXX, MI Nonprofit Guide, Board Connect, Skills Based Volunteerism, InnerView, Mentor Connector, OnCorps, etc.) and ensure staff are aware of how to use them
  • Provide support for special events including Governor Service Awards, conferences, training events, and Commissioner meetings
Requirements :


  • Bachelor’s (Preferred)
  • Database management: 1 year (Preferred)

Skills & Abilities Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a complementary field and a commitment to the ideals of volunteerism
  • Demonstrated skills in building strategies as well as analyzing data and trends
  • Strong project management skills and proven ability to meet deadlines, goals and objectives
  • Strong interpersonal, written communications and presentation skills.
  • Must be flexible, able to adapt to new experiences, and capable of working independently
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint, as well as meeting and communication platforms
