ORGANIZATION/PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The California Conservation Corps is a department within the California Natural Resources Agency. We are the oldest and largest conservation corps in the nation. Our mission is to protect and enhance California’s natural resources and communities while empowering and developing young adults through hard work and education.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position reports to the CCC Los Padres Center 1530 Madera Ave. San Luis Obispo, CA 93401. The candidate will work out of a private office with a window. Use of state vehicle available for work-related travel.
JOB DUTIES
Responsible for all matters related to Corpsmember payroll, health benefits, hires & separations:
- Maintain corpsmember personnel files
- Create weekly crew roster in timekeeping program
- Print daily timesheets
- Distribute corpsmember master payroll
- Print monthly timesheets for corpsmembers
- Complete hire packets with all new corpsmembers
- File corpsmember workers’ compensation claims and maintain files
Responsible for Clerical Duties as follows:
- Assist with public visitors
- Compose correspondence and documents
- Provide agenda and minutes for weekly operational meeting
- Complete trips to town to retrieve mail and transport corpsmembers
- Maintain phone lists
- Provide assistance to lead staff

REQUIREMENTS
- The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired.
