Founded in 1957, the SCA is devoted to building access to nature, providing green job opportunities for young people and teaching members how to become environmental stewards. POSITION DESCRIPTION
About us:
The Student Conservation Association (SCA) is the largest provider of hands-on environmental conservation programs for youth and adults. Program participants protect and restore national parks, national forests, wildlife refuges, marine sanctuaries, cultural landmarks, community green spaces, and much more across the country.
JOB DUTIES
Key duties and responsibilities:
Join the staff at Hampson Archeological Museum State Park in their efforts to preserve Arkansas history. The main project goal for this position is to assist with collections management efforts, specifically inputting a large amount of archeological collection data into Past Perfect software.
Marginal duties and responsibilities:
Other tasks may include researching, developing, and presenting educational programs, giving guided tours, and other related tasks.
The work schedule will be discussed with the chosen candidate, but may be flexible around the Member’s other obligations.
REQUIREMENTS
To qualify for this position, an applicant must meet the following criteria:
· Be a full-time student in good standing at an Arkansas college/university at the time of application
· Have declared a degree of study
· Have completed 60 hours of college credit by the time the internship begins
· Be an Arkansas resident paying in-state tuition
· Maintain a 2.5 cumulative grade point average
· Demonstrate coursework or knowledge related to the work area
· Be at least 18 years of age
· Pass a criminal background check
· Have reliable on-site transportation
Priority will be given to candidates from universities that provide course credit hours for this position. Selected candidates will coordinate directly with their universities to obtain credit for their work.
