2016 National Conference Awards

The Corps Network serves over 100 member Corps, which in turn enroll over 23,000 Corpsmembers every year. At our 2016 National Conference, we are proud to recognize 5 Corpsmembers, 3 Corps projects, and 1 influential leader from the Corps world.

Legacy Achievement Award = Friday, Nov. 6th

Corpsmember of the Year Award 

Every year, at The Corps Network’s National Conference in Washington, DC, we honor a select group of exceptional Corpsmembers from our member Service and Conservation Corps. These young men and women have exceeded the expectations of their Corps by exhibiting outstanding leadership skills and demonstrating an earnest commitment to service and civic engagement. The Corpsmembers of the Year are role models; their personal stories and accomplishments are an inspiration to Corpsmembers nationwide.

Project of the Year Award 

At The Corps Network’s annual National Conference in Washington, DC, we celebrate the important service Corps provide to communities and young people across the country by honoring Corps who have taken on especially noteworthy endeavors within the past year. Projects of the Year are innovative and show a Corps’ ability to work with partner organizations to give Corpsmembers a positive experience and provide the community with meaningful improvements.

Corps Legacy Achievement Award 

The Corps Network’s Corps Legacy Achievement Award recognizes leaders with approximately 20 or more years of contribution to the Corps movement, who have served in a senior leadership position (CEO, Executive Director, Board Member, Vice President) for a Corps or multiple corps, and who have made a significant contribution to the movement (e.g. founded a Corps, brought a Corps to scale, served for approximately 15+ years as Executive Director/CEO of a Corps, served a key role as a national board member, made a significant national contribution through developing a nationwide project, etc.).

21CSC Champion of the Year Award 

The 21CSC Champion of the Year Award is presented at The Corps Network’s National Conference by the Partnership for the 21st Century Conservation Service Corps. The award is given to individuals from organizations or government agencies that have partnered with 21CSC programs to engage young people in conservation projects on public lands. The awardees are selected through a nomination process. Download the nomination form to honor a project partner who has worked with your Corps.

2016 Congressional Champions

The Corps Network is accepting nominations for 2016 Congressional Champions of the Year! Is there a member of the US House or Senate that has visited your Corps or been supportive of your efforts locally? Do you think they are deserving of an award for their support? If so, please let us know by Friday, December 18, 2015. To nominate your member, simply contact Tyler Wilson, Director of Government Relations, and let him know your member’s name and one or two sentences about why he or she is deserving of an award.
