Kara Smith

Kara is the Program and Projects Associate at The Corps Network. Kara’s projects include Excellence in Corps Operations (ECO), MLK Day of Service, Civic Justice Corps, Gulf Coast Conservation Corps, and the Inclusive Crew Project.

Kara has a strong understanding of grants management, particularly the grants reimbursement process, for the Corporation for National and Community Service and the Department of Labor.

Previously, Kara served as a Student Engagement and Leadership Fellow for the D.C.-Based CoRAL (Community Research and Learning) Network and founded TERPcorps, a service Corps in the College Park, MD community. She also worked in the office of Community Service-Learning at UMD connecting students with volunteer opportunities. Kara holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland – College Park.
